How to tell if a peptide vendor is legit?

Pull five records the vendor publishes and check each one at its source (a state business filing, the testing laboratory's name and standing, a certificate index, a second laboratory's report, and written terms), and know going in that no one record settles legitimacy on its own. For the filing, find the legal name, the state and the filing number on the vendor's pages, then look the number up in that state's business registry and compare the name; that shows a company was registered, not what it sells. For the laboratory, copy the sentence describing its standing word for word, qualifiers included, because the qualifier is often the part that changes the meaning. For certificates, count how many catalogue items carry one, note any marked pending, then open a file and find the batch it names: a certificate describes that batch, not the vial in your hand. For a second laboratory, look for a report on a named batch from a laboratory other than the one on the certificate, and if it prints a verification key, confirm it with the laboratory that issued it rather than with the vendor. For written terms, read what the vendor commits to and what it excludes, in its own words. Each step runs on the vendor's pages or with the body that issued the record.
